A 3D Short Animated Film Inspired by Irish Mythology
Isle of Gods follows the arrival of the Tuatha Dé Danann to ancient Ireland, and the betrayal of the young god of skills, Lugh, by the machiavellian Brés the Beautiful, as he seeks to steer their wise King Nuada toward war with the Firbolg. But the Goddess of fate has other plans, drawing Lugh away from all he has known and toward a wild, untamed island he must now call home.
After washing ashore, Lugh wakes on a quiet, unfamiliar coast. What follows is not a linear journey, but fragments of memory surfacing like tides — moments of battle, loss, and something long buried beneath the sea. Reality and recollection begin to blur as the past reclaims him. In a world that has moved on, memory is the only thing that remains… and it does not let go.
Marina Griffin Bio
Hi, I am Marina Griffin, a final-year animation student with a passion for environmental design, lighting, and cinematic storytelling. I enjoy creating atmospheric 3D worlds that feel immersive and help guide the emotional tone of a story. In Isle of Gods, I focused on building the landscapes and visual atmosphere of the film. Outside of animation, I love reading, working with traditional art, photography, collecting visual references and exploring natural landscapes that inspire my work. I also have a strong interest in filmmaking and postproduction, especially how editing, sound, and visual atmosphere come together to shape a story.
