Genesis

My final year project is to record an EP. It is called Genesis and will contain five songs, written by me. The main objective of this is to experiment with and apply all the knowledge learned throughout the years in the music production area, in the form of audible content. All of the work involved will be carried out by me. This includes writing, recording, the production, mixing, and mastering. I will also be involved in the post-production process.

As stated, the name of the EP is Genesis. Each of the five songs draws on different genres and musical styles, such as Hip-Hop, Electronic music, and contemporary Brazilian urban music. Among the artists whose work I draw on are Knucks and 2 Pac. Bob Jackson’s course on Audio Mastering is particularly important here, notably the different styles and techniques used in the recording and mixing/mastering of different genres of songs. Furthermore, my FYP is also a tool for personal development, offering me insights into how my own personal trajectory.

A final part of the FYP is how to use social media as a tool for promoting the content created. Some forms of social medias are more efficient for music distribution, notably Instagram, Spotify, Sound Cloud, and Tik Tok. These platforms will be used to promote the music and the content.
